A Therapy Dog. An off-leash park. A rainy morning. A tennis ball... All these came together and in the blink of an eye: a torn cruciate ligament.
Misty is now officially on The Injured List awaiting surgery. That’s not the end of it: she’s going to need two months of rehab and recovery. No visiting the Palliative Care Unit. No walking in the local Santa Claus Parades. And no...absolutely no... tennis ball – even though she stands in front of you on three legs instead of four, barking and pleading with those Golden Retriever eyes... Boy, this is going to be a tough one.
Here’s the game plan: pre-op bloodwork on Monday, then her appointment with the surgeon on Thursday. I’ll keep you apprised of her progress and document it all here.
And filming for the upcoming episode on Therapy Dogs for Dog Park Tales? It was supposed to begin at the end of November... that too, is waiting for Misty to have her surgery, her post-op recovery and hopefully some growth spurts of her fur!
