As our veterinary surgeon has said, "She's taking all this like a Golden Retriever" which is another way of saying what our wonderful Pet Nanny, Sandi, said today. I had emailed Sandi to inform her that Misty was not enthusiastic about her breakfast this morning and, alarmingly to me, her eyes were dull. Sandi said that when she arrived and took the dogs outside Misty hobbled up to her with a ball in her mouth... yep... just like a Golden Retriever... nonetheless, if I needed any convincing that Misty needs to lose that leg as soon as can be managed, it was seeing the happiness gone from her eyes this morning. Bring on the amputation! I'm hoping that Misty will have a swift recovery so we can return to visiting patients and families on the PCU -- that's where Misty really comes into herself... and I hope it helps to prolong her life.
I'll keep you posted on these eventful days.
